Ponies with IRL friends?

I just had a dream that I told my family I liked MLP:FiM and all was good. o.o
Stupid dream. (I blame this thread)

I have a new plan for showing ponies to my friend.

I'll invite him over one day when my parents aren't home, tell him that I heard about the show and that it sounded interesting (pretending that I've never seen it) and that we should watch it to check out what the fuss is for ourselves. After he starts liming it, I'll reveal that I actually liked the show beforehand, and just wanted to get him to watch it. Friendship bonds ensue.

Sounds like it would work. Got any thoughts?

I think you will find that once your friend sees the show is MLP he will be all "no way we watching this" and he will never agree to watching it just to see the hype.
Also your Rainbow Dash desktop wallpaper would totally give you away. XD

He's fairly open to new things (Example: I told him about Gurren Lagann one day at school and he watched it the instant that he went home without knowing anything about it) so I think it might work.
Ropes will probably help too...

If he says no, I'll either come open then or just tell we'll watch it to "see how stupid it is." (Blech, I felt sick just having to type that...)

By the way, I don't have a RD wallpaper. I have a Gurren Lagann one.

If your friend is open minded you should have no trouble telling him. no ropes cuz I got in trouble for that once, but it was with a girl and different circumstances

I really hope that he starts liking it. It's kinda boring having one pony friend to talk to, and even then he kinda just tolerates my bronyism and isn't a full brony.

I was with my friend today, and I asked him if he had ever heard of a brony. He told me that he heard of them, and he seemed to be describing them with a negative vibe. I told him that apparently, if the show is good enough for grown men to be watching it, then there must be something about it that makes it good. I told him I'd "do some research" and report back on what I found about it. What should I tell/show him? I'm getting really close to starting the conversion process, but I can't outright tell him about it, as he seems to have a negative interpretation of the bronies.

Tell him that you have his family and they will remain unharmed if he watches S1 of MLP:FiM.

Everyone has a negative opinion at first. You gotta push through that because I refused to watch based on a random person saying to try it.

I know. It's just really really awkward just suddenly going up to someone and saying "Hey man, let's watch some ponies!" I'm trying to get him into a more gradual progression than just a blunt "I like this, so you like it too" kind of thing.

No one knows about me irl. They don't even know I like/am married to MHT.
Although I do have the strong urge to say " I liek ponies"
